Drone facade cleaning
Facade cleaning using drone technology allows work to be carried out without the need for scaffolding, lifts, or traditional high-access methods. The process uses a drone equipped with a low-pressure cleaning system and demineralized water, which effectively removes dirt while remaining safe for facade surfaces. This makes it possible to clean thin-layer plasters, facade panels, composite cladding, and painted surfaces without the risk of damage.
The technology is used to remove atmospheric pollution, traffic-related deposits, industrial dust, and biological growth such as algae and lichen. These contaminants accumulate naturally during the normal use of a building and over time cause facades to become dull and lose their visual appeal. Regular cleaning helps maintain the proper appearance of a property and, in the case of commercial buildings and residential communities, also influences how the property is perceived by users and customers.
Using a drone provides access to areas that are difficult to reach for rope access teams and reduces interference with the building’s surroundings. During the work there is no need to close sidewalks or occupy parking spaces, which is particularly important in densely built urban areas. The overall project time is shorter than with traditional methods because the preparation of the work site does not require the installation of supporting structures.
This method is used for residential, office, commercial, and industrial buildings. Aerial cleaning allows the work to be carried out efficiently and in an organizationally predictable way while minimizing disruption for building occupants and users.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions
Can a drone damage the plaster or facade insulation?
No. Cleaning is performed using a low-pressure method with demineralized water, which means it does not wash out joints or damage thin-layer, silicone, or acrylic plaster. The pressure is adjusted to the type of surface, and the operator does not physically touch the facade with the equipment.
Do entrances or parking areas need to be closed during cleaning?
Usually there is no need for that. The drone operates from the air, so it does not require scaffolding or lifts. In most cases, it is enough to temporarily secure the area directly below the section of the wall currently being cleaned.
How long does it take to clean a building facade?
The time mainly depends on the height of the building and the level of contamination, however the work usually takes from a few hours to one working day. The lack of scaffolding significantly shortens the preparation time compared to traditional methods.
Does the method remove green deposits and algae?
Yes. The technology effectively removes biological growth, streaks, and atmospheric dirt. In the case of heavy lichen growth, a dedicated facade cleaning agent is used, which is safe for both the surface and the surrounding environment.
Will streaks remain on the wall after cleaning?
No. The demineralized water used does not contain minerals that cause streaks or deposits. After drying, the facade remains uniform in color with no dripping marks.
Do residents need to close their windows during cleaning?
It is recommended to close windows only during the cleaning of a given wall. The work is carried out in sections, so the inconvenience is temporary and only affects apartments located directly next to the facade currently being cleaned.
Will water drip onto balconies and window sills?
A small amount of water may appear on lower elements of the facade, however it is not intensive flooding as in high-pressure washing. If necessary, residents can be informed about the short duration of the work so they can remove items from balcony railings.
Are the works noisy for residents?
No. The drone generates a sound comparable to a vacuum cleaner heard from outside the building. The noise is short-term and moves along with the progress of the work, so it does not cause prolonged discomfort.
Will the facade stay clean longer after cleaning?
Yes. Removing deposits and biological growth slows down the process of surfaces becoming dirty again. Regular cleaning every few years helps maintain a uniform appearance of the building and limits permanent discoloration of the plaster.
